The reading of a thermometer at 0oC and 100oC are 50 cm and 75 cm of mercury column respectively. Find the temperature at which its reading is 80 cm of mercury column?

Reading of thermometer at 0 and 100 are 50cm and 75cm.
Difference in cm=5075
=25cm
Difference in Celsius =0100
=100
25cm is equal to 100°
1cm is equal to 4
So, 80cm=(75+5)cm
=100+5×4
=120.
Hence, the answer is 120.
