CNS and peripheral nervous system
The CNS (Central Nervous System) receives, processes, interprets and stores information coming from senses and sends out the messages destined for the effector. The PNS (Peripheral Nervous System) handles its input and output.
CNS includes the brain lying in the skull and the spinal cord contained within the vertebral column. It receives information from the body and sends out instructions to particular organs and the human brain can be divided into forebrain, midbrain and hindbrain.
PNS includes the nerves that emerge from and enter into the brain and spinal cord.It consists of the cranial and spinal nerves. PNS is again divided into the autonomous nervous system (ANS) and the somatic nervous system (SNS).
