Applying Snell's law at second refraction,

μ2sin(90r)=μ1×sin90
cosr=μ1μ2 - - - - - (1)

Snell's law at first refraction gives,

1×sini=μ2sinr
sini=μ2×1cos2r
(sinr=1cos2r)
sini=μ21(μ1μ2)2

sini=μ22μ21
Or, i=sin1μ22μ21
