The Bhakti Movement developed in India as a revolt against the caste system and ritualism.The Bhakti saints preached their teachings in the local languages which gave a boost to development of the local and the vernacular languages and rise of regional literature. Local languages became popular among the masses and the teachings of the saints reached the nook and corner of the country.
