Muhammad bin Tughluque introduced some reforms which made him really unpopular among the people. So people revolted against him and his reforms. Revolts broke out across the empire as the provinces figured that the administration of Sultan was weak. And so, several of these provinces of Delhi Sultanate announced themselves independent during these revolts. The most formidable among them being - the Vijayanagar and Bahamani kingdoms.
