A safety fuse is used to protect home appliances from harmful amount of electric current. As soon as the current through the fuse exceeds the allowed limit, the wire heats up and melts. The temperature of a fuse wire changes with the square of the electric current passing through it, at constant resistance. The relation hence, would look like this, like a y = x2 parabola:
