Question

The relation between time t and displacement x is t=αx2+βx, where α and β are constant, find the relation between velocity and acceleration.

Open in App
Solution

t=αx2+βx .......................1

Differentiaitng above equation wrt x we get (dt/dx)=2αx+β ..............................2
but velocity(v)=dx/dt so v=12αx+β

differentiaitng equation 2 wrt x we get(d2t/dx2)=2α
As acceleration(a)=d2x/dt2 so we have a=1/2α...................3
so we have 2α=1/a

put it in expression of velocity. Thus we get v=1xa+β.
It is the required relation between velocity and acceleration/
