The circut delivers 10 mA at a 30 V setting when the cell is illuminated with about 400 lm/m2. The circuit becomes denergised when the cell is dark. The requried series resistance R1 ( in kΩ) & the dark current ( in mA) respectively

The correct option is C 2,0.3
The cell current corresponding to illumination level of 400 lm/m2 is 1kΩ. The external resistance R1 is
30+I(R1+1kΩ)=0
30+10×103(R1kΩ)=0
R1=3010×1031kΩ
R1=2kΩ
Idark= dark currnet when illumination in minimum i.e., i(1m/m2) & the corresponding resistance of photocell is 100 kΩ
So, the
Idark=VR1+Rdark
=302kΩ+100 kΩ
Idark=0.294 (mA)
0.3(mA)
