  2. The outer darker region is the cortex which is dotted in appearance.
  3. The renal cortex is dark in color and pre numerous nephrons in a highly coiled region with a dotted appearance.

RENAL CORTEX: The renal cortex provides an area for arterioles and venules from the arterial blood vessel and vein, similarly because the glomerular capillaries, to perfuse the nephrons of the urinary organ.
