Mitochondria are called as powerhouse of cell, because they manufacture most of the ATP in a cell during aerobic respiration. Pyruvic acid molecules are metabolised completely inside the mitochondria in Kreb's cycle and ATP is produced. This production of ATP is called as oxidative phosphorylation because it involves oxidation of food, i.e., glucose. This process requires oxygen in the terminal step of electron transport chain of mitochondria and produces water as a by product. Carbon dioxide is released at several stages in the Kreb's cycle. Thus, the enzyme required for the respiratory reaction like Kreb's cycle and electron transport chain is present in mitochondria. Thus, the correct answer is option C.
