Let the two forces be represented by a,P and the resultant by r

r=20 ,a=203

a+P=r

Also a,r makes angle 30°

The below diagram represents the situation

Step 2: Formula used:

If a+P=r

then, P2=a2+r2-2abcosθ

Step 3: Calculating the magnitude of another vector

a+P=r

P=r-a

P2=a2+r2-2abcosθ

P2=(203)2+202-2×20×203×cos(30°)
