Open in App
Solution

Heart:

  1. It is the principal organ of the circulatory system that is important for pumping oxygenated blood to the entire body and receiving deoxygenated blood that is sent to the lungs for oxygenation.
  2. The rhythmic expansion and contraction of the heart is called the cardiac cycle.
  3. The cardiac cycle is the heart's repeated pattern of contraction and relaxation.
  4. Each cycle of atrial and ventricular contraction (systole) and relaxation (diastole) is of 0.8 seconds.
  5. The human heart is a part of the circulatory system and helps in the pumping of blood and circulation of oxygenated blood throughout the body.

Stages of Cardiac cycle:

  1. The cardiac cycle is divided into two phases namely systole (the contraction phase) and diastole (the relaxation phase).
  2. In the systole phase, the ventricles contract and pump blood out of the heart to the arteries.
  3. In the diastole phase, heart ventricles relax and the heart fills with blood.
