Question 25:
The rice seedlings infected with fungus Gibberella fujikuroi is called foolish seedlings? What was the reason behind it?
The fungus Gibberella fujikuroi when it infects the rice plant, it causes an abnormal increase in the intermodal area of rice , leading to the rice plant becoming foolishly tall as compared to normal ones , ultimately resulting in it's death . This is because this fungi produces GA (Gibberellic acid) in considerably higher amounts which causes this uncontrolled growth of rice plants.
