Mean = 550

Median = 555

Mean = $\frac{Sumofscores}{No.ofplayers}$

= $\frac{540+480+615+440+400+565+600+490+555+595+770}{11}$

= $\frac{6050}{11}$

= 550

For median we first arrange the scores in ascending order :

400 , 440 , 480 , 490 , 540 , 555 , 565 , 595 , 600 , 615 , 770

The number of observations are 11.

$\therefore$ Median will be the 6th observation which is 555.

We can observe that the mean and median in this case have close values and both give a good idea of the Average.
