The Sahara Desert was formed over a period of time due to one of the following uncontrolled activities of man:
(a) the excessive cutting down of forest plants and trees
(b) the excessive killing of large herbivores
(c) the excessive killing of large carnivores
(d) the excessive use of poisonous chemicals called herbicides

The excessive killing of lions resulted in an increase in the number of herbivores, which in turn consumed all the vegetation. Hence, the Sahara Desert was formed.
