given that $a + b = 2000$ $(1)$
A spends $95 %$ $⟹ 15 %$ savings $= \frac{5}{100} a$
B spends $85 %$ $⟹ 15 %$ savings $= \frac{5}{100} b$
both savings are equal
$⟹ \frac{5 a}{100} = \frac{15 b}{100} ⟹ a = 3 b$
