Sea water has a salinity of 3.5% i.e. the sea water contain about 35 grams of dissolved salt per kg of water ( about 1 litre of water ). This salinity is because of the rivers that carry chemical/salts dissolved out of rocks and soil. NaCl makes the most of this dissolved salt.
