Solution

i) Homogeneous mixture:-

  • Seawater is the mixture of water, salts, and other many suspended impurities. Apart from these many gases are also dissolved in it. Because of the presence of a mixture of several dissolved gases in seawater, it is classified as a homogeneous mixture.

Homogeneous mixture

  • Uniform distribution of components.
  • Components cannot be distinguished easily or by physical process.
  • Components of homogeneous mixture cannot be seen through naked eye

ii) Heterogeneous mixture:-

  • Due to the presence of salt and suspended impurities, seawater is also classified as a heterogeneous mixture.

Heterogeneous mixture

  • Non-uniform distribution of components.
  • Components can be distinguished easily or by physical process
  • Components of heterogeneous mixtures can be seen through naked eyes
