The correct option is A 1235 sq units
Let us find the area of one tile(shaded in red color)

Length is 15 units

Width is 17 units


Hence, area of each tile is 135 sq units.

Number of shaded tiles = 12

Therefore, area of 12 shaded tiles = 12 × 135

= 1235 sq units

We can also find the area as shown below:


Length of shaded region (green) = 47 units


Width of shaded region (green) = 35 units

Area of shaded region (green) =47 × 35 = 1235 sq units

Hence, area of the garden = 1235 sq units.
