The shadow of a flying aeroplane cannot be seen on the earth. Explain why?

Solution

  1. An opaque object which comes between paths of light-ray, forms a shadow.
  2. An aeroplane running above ground is so far above the ground, that the light ray coming from sideways does not form a shadow on the ground.
  3. They can cast shadows only if they are at less height i.e distance between ground and bird or aeroplane is small.
