The side of a square field is 16 m. What will be the increase in its area, if:
ii. each of its sides is doubled.

Given,
Length of each side of the square field =16 m
The area of the square field is given by:
Area=(Side)2
Area=16×16=256 m2

According to the question,
New length of the side =2×16=32 m
Therefore,
The area of the new square field:
Area=(side)2
Area=32×32=1024 m2

Increase in the area
= New Area - Original Area
=1024256
=768 m2
Therefore, the increase in the area of the square field is 768 m2.
