The correct option is A3,4,5 The sides of a triangle given are x−1,x and x+1.
∵x+1>x>x−1,∀x>0
⟹x+1 is the longest side As it is a right angled triangle, we apply Pythagoras theorem therefore, (x−1)2+x2=(x+1)2 ⇒x2−2x+1+x2=x2+2x+1 ⇒x2−4x=0 ⇒x(x−4)=0 x=4 ,x=0
x=0 cannot be the side of a triangle. One side is 4. Other two sides x−1=4−1=3 x+1=4+1=5 ∴ Sides of a triangle are 3,4 and 5. Answer is option A
