Solution

The correct option is B

30 cm

The sides of a triangle are 50 cm, 78 cm, and 16 cm. The altitude to the largest side is 112 cm
s=a+b+c2=50+78+1122
= 2402=120
Area=s(sa)(sb)(sc)
=120(12050)(12078)(120112)
= 120×70×42×8
= 10×3×2×10×7×7×3×2×2××2×2
= 10×7×3×2×2×2=1680cm2
Shortest altitude = Area×2longest base

= 1680×2112=30cm
