The sides of a triangle are given as $a, 2 a + 3$ and $3 a - 3$ .If the perimeter is $60 c m$ . find the smallest side of the triangle?

Solution

Given the sides of triangle be $a, (2 a + 3), (3 a - 3)$
since perimeter $= 60 c m$
$\Rightarrow a + (2 a + 3) + (3 a - 3) = 60 \Rightarrow a = 10$
therefore smallest side of the triangle is $= 10 c m$
