The sides of rectangle are given by 23.7 units and 3.8 units. Find the area of rectangle and specify correct number of significant figures .

$A=l\times b=23.7\times 3.8=90.06$
Out of the two numbers, the 3.8 has the least number of significant digits i.e., 2. Therefore the product should also have two significant figures.
$\therefore A=9.0\times {10}^1$
