The sides of triangle are 11,60 and 61. Determine whether it is a right-angled triangle.

Open in App
Solution

The sides of the triangle are 11 , 60 and 61 units.
The longest side is 61 units .
(61)2 = 3721 ...(1)
Now, we will calculate the sum of the squares of other two sides .
(11)2 + (60)2 = 121 + 3600 = 3721 ...(2)
From equations (1) & (2), we get:
(61)2 = (11)2 + (60)2
Thus, these are the sides of a right-angled triangle by the converse of Pythagoras' Theorem.
