The sign in the hotel elevator reads Maximum of 6 people or 1200 lbs. Suzanne weighs 80 pounds, her dad is three times her weight, and her mom is twice her weight. Her sister is 40 pounds heavier than Suzanne, while her brother is 90 pounds heavier. Can they all ride in the elevator at the same time?

Dear student. Suzanne weight is 80 pounds. Her father's weight =3×80=240 pounds. Her mother's weight is =2×80=160 pounds. Her sisters weight=80+40=120 pounds. Her brother's weight is =80+90=170 pounds. Hence their total weight=80+240+160+120+170=770 pounds. Elevator can carry 1200 pounds at once. Hence they all can ride in the elevator at the same time as their total weight is less than the capacity of elevator. Regards
