The American Revolution had a significance far beyond the North American continent. It attracted the attention of a political intelligentsia throughout the European continent. Its success strengthened the concept of natural rights throughout the Western world and furthered the Enlightenment rationalist critique of an old order built around hereditary monarchy and an established church. In a very real sense, it was a precursor to the French Revolution, but it lacked the French Revolution's violence and chaos because it had occurred in a society that was already fundamentally liberal.
The main purpose of the Declaration of Independence was to reveal the fact that the public is empowered to change a government that deprives it of their natural rights. It was also stated that hence forward the Americans were free to take authoritative decisions independently in all matters of war, peace, truce and business which are the rights of an independent state. Participation of France and Spain with their marines force proved to be a turning point in the war. The American and the French armies had become so superior that the British Commander In-Chief Lord Cornwallis had to capitulate on 19 October 1781 in Yorktown. At last, the war of American Independence ended in 1783, with the settlement of Paris Pact. The real important of the war of American Independence lies in the successful completion of American Revolution. American Revolution occupies an important place among the remarkable events of the world History. As a result of this revolution, there emerged not only a new nation in the new world but also a new era began for the human race. The American society, after the Revolution, realized the great importance of education. It was soon realized that educated voters were must for democracy. The economic outcome of the American Revolution was also important like its social and political consequences. The Revolution removed all obstacles that came in the way of capitalist economy and encouraged its growth. The Revolution influenced industries more than agriculture. Industries were benefited in two ways:-first American industries got rid of the mercantilist restriction imposed by England awareness.
Revolution usually entails social upheaval and violence on a wide scale. By these criteria, the American Revolution was relatively mild. In fact, the American Revolution, despite all this, brought about enormous net benefits not just for citizens of the newly independent United States but also, over the long run, for people across the globe.
