The slant height of the frustum of a cone is 4cm, and the perimeter of its circular bases are 18cm and 6cm respectively. Find the curved surface area and total surface area of the frustum.

Given, 2πr1=18cm, 2πr2=6cm,l=4cm
r1=9πcm, r2=3πcm
Curved surface area of the frustum=π(r1+r2)l
=π(9π+3π)4=π×12π×4
CSA of the frustum =48cm2
Total surface area of the frustum=π(r1+r2)l+πr21+πr22

=48+π×9π×9π+π×3π×3π=48+81π+9π

=48+81×722+9×722=48+25.8+2.9
TSA of the frustum=76.7cm2.
