Question

The solubility of a solute is 8. If the density of solution is 1.364gml1, find the weight-volume percentage.

Open in App
Solution

S=8=, 8g of solute in 100g of solvent
mass of solution =108g
density =massvolume, Volume =79.18 ml
% weight-volume =8×100079.18=101.03g/L
with increase in temperature, Kinetic energy of the molecule increases.
In solid, it allows the solvent molecules to mole effectively break apart hence solubility increases.
Where as in gases, with higher kinetic energy, it cause motion in gas, which break the intermolecular forces and the gas molecule escape from solution decreasing solubility.
