In this case, the refractive index of glass with respect to water is given as:

n=speedoflightinwater(v1)speedoflightinglass(v2)

where, the speed of light in water medium v1=2.2×108m/s and the speed of light in glass medium v2=2×108m/s.

Therefore, n=2.2×108m/s2×108m/s=1.1.

Hence, the refractive index of the transparent medium is 1.1
