Question

The speed of one way journey from home to airport averaged at 45 miles per hour. A return journey along the same route, but with traffic, speed averaged at 30 miles per hour. If the total travel time was 2 hours and 30 minutes, then how much distance (in miles) is yet to cover to reach home?

Let the Distance from and Airport be D

It is given that entire journey took 2.5 Hours
Now,
D45 is the time of first travel and

D30 is the time of second travel

D45+D30=2.5

Solving ,we get
D=45 miles

Extra Time =0.5 Hrs

Distance Yet to cover =30×(0.5)=15miles
