Let the Distance from and Airport be $D$

It is given that entire journey took $2.5$ Hours

Now,

$\frac{D}{45}$ is the time of first travel and

$\frac{D}{30}$ is the time of second travel

$\Rightarrow \frac{D}{45}+\frac{D}{30}=2.5$

Solving ,we get

$\Rightarrow D=45$ miles

Extra Time $=0.5$ $Hrs$

Distance Yet to cover $=30\times \left(0.5\right)=15miles$
