Static Friction:
The static frictional force is one that resists the force that is applied to an object that is at rest, and the object remains at rest until the static frictional force is overcome.
Kinetic Friction:
The kinetic frictional force is one that resists the motion of an object and the body remains in motion till the time the external force overcomes the kinetic friction.
Static friction is not necessarily always more than kinetic friction even though the coefficient of static friction is more than the coefficient of kinetic friction.
This is because static friction is not constant and depends upon the force applied to the body to move it which is a bit less than limiting friction.
Hence we can’t conclude that static friction will always be greater than kinetic.
