The stopping potential for the photoelectrons emitted from a metal surface of work function 1.7eV is 10.4V. Find the wavelength of the radiation used. Also identify the energy levels in hydorgen atom which will emit this wavelength.

Stopping Potential K=10.4V
We know that
Kmax=hcλW
Substitute all value in above equation
10.4=hcλ1.7λ=hc10.4+1.7=hc12.1hcE=hc12.1E=12.1ev
λ=1237512.1=1022.7A0
Energy level will be n=3 to n=1
