The combined equation of the straight lines can be obtained by the method of homogenization.

y2=4xx+yn

ny2=4x2+4xy

4x2+4xy+ny2=0

These straight lines are perpendicular if

4 + n = 0

n=4

n2=16

The tan of the angle between the pair of straight lines ax2+2bxy+by2=0 is given by

tanθ=2b2aba+b
