The structure of courts in Indian resemble a pyramid. It has three tiers.

1. District and Session courts which are at the district level.
2. High courts which are the state level. High courts can hear appeals against judgements by district courts.
3. Supreme court at the national level. It is the highest court and can hear appeals against high court judgements.
