Reductive ozonolysis of both gave the same product which is difluoro derivative of formaldehyde and carbon dioxide. The only difference is in the number of moles of carbon dioxide formed. The terminal carbon atoms are converted to difluoro derivative of formaldehyde and the internal carbon atoms are converted to carbon dioxide.
