Total money donated = ₹2,401
Let the number of students be x.
So, money donated by each student = x.
Hence, the total money donated = x × x = $x^2$

According to the question,

$x^2=2,401\Rightarrow x=\sqrt{2,401}=\sqrt{2,401}=\sqrt{7\times 7\times 7\times 7}\Rightarrow x=7\times 7=49$

Hence, the number of students is 49.
