Let Sumit's age be $x$ and Deepika's age be $y$.
Then, by question, we have $x+y=\mathrm{30...}\left(1\right)$ and $x=y+6,i.e.x-y=\mathrm{6....}\left(2\right)$
Adding (1) and (2), we have $2x=36⟹x=18$
$⟹y=30-x=30-18=12$
