Solution

Let the present age of John = x yrsLet the present age of father = y yrsNow, according to first condition :x + y = 89 .....1After 11 years :John's age = x+11 yrsFather's age = y+11 yrsNow, according to second condition :y+11 = 2x + 11y+11 = 2x + 222x - y = -11 .....2Adding 1 and 2, we get3x = 78x = 26Now, from 1, we get26 + y = 89y = 63So, present age of John = 26 yrsPresent age of father = 63 yrs
