Given that the cost of each mango is Rs. x and the cost of each apple is Rs. yNow, Cost of 12 mangoes = 12xCost of 5 apples = 5yHence, the desired equation would be:12x + 5y = 100Question also says that the cost of each mango and each apple are equal.i.e. x = yThis implies, 12x + 5x = 10017x = 100 or12y +5y = 10017y = 100
