Let us work out with few numbers and get the answer

Let the number be 23.

Sum of digits is 2+3=5

Now, we subtract the sum of the digits from the number itself that is 235=18.

18 is divisible by both 2 and 9.

Sum of digits is 1+5=6

Now, we subtract the sum of the digits from the number itself that is 156=9.
