If AB is the chord x+y=n, then OM =n2 ...By perpendicular distance formula
Thus (AB)2=(2AM)2 ....Perpendicular drawn from center to the chord bisects the chord

In OAM,
OA2=OM2+AM2 ....By Pythagoras theorem
AM2=OA2OM2
4(AM)2=4[22n22]=2(8n2)
Hence the required sum =2[812+822]=2(165)=22
