the sum of the weigth of a mother, a baby and a dog is 170 pounds . the mother is 100 pounds more than both the baby and the dog combined. If the dog is 60% less than the baby's weight, find the weight of the baby??

Let sum of weights of baby and dog = x poundsLet the weight of mother = y poundsNow, x + y = 170 .....1 -x + y = 100 ......2Adding 1 and 2, we get 2y =270y = 2702 = 135Put y = 135 in 1, we get x + 135 = 170x = 35So, Let the weight of baby = z poundsweight of dog = z - 60% of z = z- 3z5 = 2z5Now, z + 2z5 =357z5 = 35z = 25So, weight of baby = 25 poundsweight of dog = 10 poundsWeight of mother = 135 pounds
