Solution

Step 1:Finding the ratio of first, second and third number:

To find ratio of first, second and third number, we have to make second number equal in both the ratios then combine them.

FirstNumber:SecondNumber=3:5=35multiplyboththenumbersby735=3×75×7=2135 SecondNumber:ThirdNumber=7:8=78multiplyboththenumbersby578=7×57×5=3540

Therefore, FirstNumber:SecondNumber:ThirdNumber=21:35:40

Step 2: Finding the first number:

Let the first, second and third number be 21x,35x,40x respectively.

Sum of the three numbers =21x+35x+40x=96x

According to question, sum of three numbers is 192

⇒96x=192x=19296x=2

Therefore, the first number is =21x=21×2=42.
