Question

The sum of two angles of a triangle is 115° and their difference is 45° . Find the measure of each angle.

Solution

Let the angles of a triangle are A,B,C

then, it is given that, sum of two angles of a triangle is 115°

i.e- A+B=115…………………………………eq1

Also it is given that- A-B=45 ………………………………………eq2

Adding both the equations

We have A+B=115A-B=452A=160A=1602A=80

We have, A=60°

Then we have to find the value of B

So, from eq1 it is given that

A+B=115

i.e-

60+B=115B=115-60B=55

So, we get the value of B=55°

Now, We know that sum of all interior angles of a triangle are 180°

So, we have,

A+B+C=18060+55+C=180C+115=180C=180-115C=65

So, C=65°

Hence, we have the all three angles are A=60° , B=55° and C=65°
