According to question,
$x+y=2490$ ------------(i)
$\Rightarrow \frac{x\times 6.5}{100}=\frac{8.5}{100}\times y$
$\Rightarrow x=\frac{8.5}{6.5}y$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{17}{13}y$ ----------(ii)
Putting (ii) in (i)
$\frac{17}{13}y+y=2490$
$\Rightarrow 30y=13\times 2490$
$\Rightarrow y=\frac{13\times 2490}{30}$
$=1079$
Putting this value in (ii)
$x=\frac{17}{13}\times 1079$
$\Rightarrow x=1411$
So the numbers are $1411$ & $1079$
