The sum of two numbers is $3000$. If $8$ times of one number is equal to $12$ times of the other, find the numbers.

Given that,

Sum of two numbers $=3000$

Let, one number be $x$ then, other number be $3000-x$

Since, $8$ times of one number is equal to $12$ times of other.

i.e,. $8x=12(3000-x)$

$⟹8x=36000-12x$

$⟹20x=36000$

$⟹x=\frac{36000}{20}=1800$

Therefore , The required numbers are $1800,1200$ respectively.
