Step 1: Force between two charges
Given, F=1 N, Separation between the charges r=0.3 m

Let one of two charges =xμC
Therefore other charge =(7x)μC
By Coulomb's law
F=kq1q2r2

1N=9×109×(x×106C)×[(7x)×106C](0.3m)2

x27x+10=0
x=2μC or 5μC
